I don’t buy take away coffee every day. I have coffee every day. I usually make it at home in the morning. I enjoy 2 cups before noon. By cups I mean mugs. I don’t enjoy it after lunch time. And it does affect my sleep if I have more than 2 mugs and any after lunch time.
When I do buy take out coffee, Starbuck’s is my first choice. If I can’t get it, for whatever reason, Tim Horton’s is my next choice. I’ve given up ever ordering coffee at 2nd Cup or Good Earth Café. I am just not a fan. If I’m going to pay the big bucks, I want to really enjoy it. ('interesting that 'bucks' is part of the franchise name...?)
There are 4 Starbuck’s in my community shopping centre. 1 free standing store, 1 inside a book store and 2 inside other businesses. (Could it be that I'm influenced completely by their brain-washing strategy of market saturation?!) I usually pick up my coffee at the one inside the book store. The staff are friendly, efficient and there are lots of people to look at in there.
Today I most definitely wanted a Starbuck’s. (Where I headed there’s only 1 Tim’s, 1 Good Earth and zero 2nd cups – what choice did I have, really?) I opted to visit the Star b’s inside Rona – the local home improvement store. The restaurant establishment set up inside the store is called “Choices” and they serve Starbuck’s coffee. It is bright and cheery and easily accessible. There was no line up. The very pleasant barrista chatted with me the whole time while she prepared my gingerbread soy latte.
I felt good spreading my wealth around, helping out the ‘littl-er’ guy. And, of course Starbuck’s gets a piece of my action, but hey, I’m happy. After the latte, I was even a bit happier.
