Tonight I lit 11 candles while eating homemade pizza and watching a movie. Eleven candles for Day 11.
I made my own pizza dough in my bread maker using real, live yeast from a bakery. The house smelled heavenly. When it was ready, I proceeded to make vegetarian ‘cheese burger’ pizza. I sautéed mushrooms, yellow onion and red onion. I added veggie ground round (it’s actually pretty good). To that mix I stirred in some chili powder, salt and pepper. I spread out the bread dough and smoothed in olive oil, fresh garlic and sea salt. I baked the pizza crust a bit first. Then, I added a sprinkle of soy cheese, some pizza sauce (from a can) and topped with the hamburger mix and added more soy cheese. This is not a great veg meal – health-wise – but for a once-in-a-while treat, it beats typical order in pizza, which is not healthy on any level.
As I watched the movie and ate the pizza the candles slowly converted the oxygen in the room into…? I’m not sure…carbon monoxide? I started to feel quite sleepy.
Maybe burning 11 candles for 2 hours was a bit over doing it, but the room was very relaxing, the meal was comforting. It made for a very enjoyable, slightly more-interesting-than-usual evening.
Day Twelve: Turn on favourite song and dance the whole thing.
